The Importance of Silence for Artists
Every artist, at some point in their lives, has always been amongst people, met numerous individuals, become involved in their lives, or touched their hearts. Similarly, an artist has sometimes walked in crowds, sometimes been in buildings with very noisy people, or worn down pavements on the streets.
Artists, while always intertwined with society, have also yearned for solitude and silence.
Artists, by nature, are emotional individuals who prefer to stay away from people. This nature of artists requires them to always be amongst people yet, at the same time, distant from them. No matter how much artists are compelled to remain in contact with people, they sometimes, even often, long for silence and solitude. They always find a way to escape and distance themselves from the crowd and the chaos of people. When artists enter the creative process, they enter a state of intense concentration. This concentration guides individuals to always be most successful and productive in their creative processes. Artists never want this process to be interrupted by noise or a distracting movement. Because inspiration comes once, and it is much easier for inspiration to flee than to arrive. This is why the creative process of artists happens in magnificent silence. Artists love silence because darkness and silence are always environments where the inner world is best reflected.
