Countries Rich in Gold and Their Status
The USA is at the Top
Gold is almost at the top of the most valuable metals today. Gold, which has been the focus of interest for both women and men for centuries as jewelry, has also gained value as an investment and savings tool. Gold is one of the rare metals, considered a safe haven in times of market fluctuations.
Our Country is Rich in Gold Reserves
According to the World Gold Council's ranking of the 10 richest countries and unions in gold reserves, the United States of America ranks first in the list of the 10 richest countries in terms of gold reserves. The United States has 8,133 tons of gold reserves. With this ratio, which represents 752% of the world's total gold reserves, the USA has taken the first place on the list. The reserve of Germany, which ranks second, is 3,381 tons, the gold reserve of the IMF, which ranks third, is 2,814 tons, and Italy, which ranks fourth, has 2,451 tons of reserves. France ranks fifth with 2,435 tons of reserves, while China, which ranks sixth, has a reserve of 1,797 tons. Russia ranks seventh with 1,460 tons of reserves and a ratio of 2%. Switzerland is in eighth place after Russia with 1,040 tons of reserves and a ratio of 7%. Japan, which ranks ninth, has a reserve amount of 765 tons, and its ratio in total reserves is 2%. The Netherlands ranks tenth with 612.5 tons. Turkey, with 479.3 tons of gold reserves, has a total reserve ratio of 17%. While exploration and mining survey studies are accelerating every day, it is hoped that Turkey's reserve amount will start to increase with the discovery of new mines. Due to our country's location and being one of the oldest settlement areas, it is estimated that there are large amounts of minerals and fossil fuels such as oil and gold. However, unfortunately, in our country where exploration and survey studies are progressing slowly, it takes time to identify and extract the minerals.
